[[Pirates]]? There are large bodies of water - of course we have pirates!

Clockworks? Probably in [[Boilerworks]]. Clocks? Trains? Automatons?

Mines? Not much to find, easier to conjure. Some family-run mines exist. Obvious exception is [[the Winding]].

Undead? Would perhaps make most sense in [[Zil-Shahaar]]. [[Et-Gong]] has several prominent, undead officials.

Ruins. [[Orgram]]? Definitely [[Suno-Haiinah]].

[[The Celenes]] - demistate of lesbians?

[[Zil-Shahaar]] - sub-city so consumed by industry it never sees the sun.

[[The Underside]] - entire subterranean sub-city, hidden beneath the surface under a regular sub-city.

[[Zil-Shahaar]] - slaves.

[[The Greens]] - Elven city center, cutting of trees forbidden.

[[Black Market]] - [[Zil-Shahaar]] and [[Raszhan]].

[[Wyrmwood]] - ambulating city. Sometimes on the back of a giant turtle, other times slowly growing out of ground, being constructed by a traveling circus, occasionally shows up within other cities 'having always been there'.

[[City of Oracles]] - [[Thelaash]] - gases in the air causes hallucinations.

[[The White City]] - an enormous cube of white marble inside which a city is carved.

Surviving a night in the [[Necropolis]] in The Winding grants some measure of undeath.

[[The Carnival]] - traveling troupe of all manners of freaks. Gladly accepts new recruits, sometimes even if the recruits don't want to.

On the library's shelves, in its chairs and simply floating in the air, you can find books on the most diverse subjects, having discussions of philosophy, magical theory, physics and politics. Within the library's walls no subject is beyond discussion, and so the occasional fight is to be expected.

In order to maximize storage, the library's walls, floors and ceilings are covered in bookshelves, and gravity bends so visitors can access all areas via the hardwood paths between shelves.

The history of Termanistan may be divided into eras, most of which may be subdivided into dynasties, which may then be subdivided by reigning emperor.

= First Era (0 - 37,861) - Reign of Yilbechar =

The dragon [[Yilbechar]] founded the city on a proto-plane of his own creation. His motivations were both to protect the world from his experiments and to protect his experiments from the world. With time he invited friends and colleagues, and the city grew to become a teeming haven for academic discussion, experimentation and scholarship.

No exact census has ever been conducted, but it is believed the city surpassed the one million inhabitants mark within this era.

A growing fraction of the population gradually lost faith in Yilbechar's ability to take care of the city, and in 37,845 the [[First War]] broke out. After 16 years of civil war Yilbechar's private sanctum was breached by a group of highly skilled assassins. A magical bomb was planted, and the dragon was erased from existence.

The faction who won the war - the [[Brotherhood of the Synod]] appointed their leader, the elven arcanist [[Teroniel Dellamanor]] as the first [[Emperor]].

'''The Great Library''' is a complicated, seemingly organically grown building in [[Yil-echmonn]]. It is the single largest collection of written works in the known multiverse, and is slowly being consumed by the rot overtaking Yil-echmonn.

= History =

When the [[sub-city]] Yil-echmonn was founded, [[Yilbechar]] decided to place there his great collection of books. They were all marked for ease of reclamation, and anyone was free to come and read, or even borrow. Other scholars saw the value in this, and added their works to the library, as well as any works they found or otherwise acquired. After more than 35,000 years the collection is impressive.

With the rise of the rot in Yil-echmonn some of the lower levels are inaccessible. Some claim the books on these levels are lost, while others hold that the bookshelves are enchanted and will protect the books.

The '''Dictate of the Synod''' is the process that ensures the internal consistency of the Termanistan demiplane. It takes care of automatic backup and rollback, consistency checks and the dispelling of potentially world-altering events.

= History =

Long after the [[Brotherhood of the Synod]] seized power in Termanistan, they decided the chaotic society created by the world's magic users was unfortunate and a threat to Termanistan's continued existence, and that something must be done. A special police force, the [[Chronoproteate]] was established to catch and punish repeat offenders or those who seek to undermine the city's safeguards. As their power grew and their requirements became clear, the Dictate was created to automate and simplify their job.

= Function =

The Dictate's function is to protect the continued existence of Termanistan, as well as its relative political stability. Whenever a spell is cast, the Dictate creates a local snapshot. The extents of this snapshot is determined by the proximity to other spells and the levels of the spells involved. Automated process then monitor the effects of the spells, and if their effects are deemed destructive to the city, there is a rollback to the snapshot, the offending spell is countered, and the offender is warned about his actions. If the case is not cut-and-dried, the Chronoproteate is notified and an agent dispatched to the scene.
